Inspiring Quranic Verses

Since Ramadan is the month of the Holy Quran, here are some inspiring Quranic verses that have moved hearts over the past 14 centuries.

“He Who created death and life so that He may test which of you is best in deed”

“It is not righteousness that you turn your faces east or west. But it is righteousness to believe in God, and the Last Day, and the Angels, and the Book, and the Messengers; to spend of your wealth, out of love for Him, for your kin, for orphans, for the needy, for the wayfarer, for those who ask, and for the ransom of slaves; to be steadfast in prayer, and practice regular charity, to fulfill the contracts which ye have made; and to be firm and patient, in pain (or suffering) and adversity, and throughout all periods of panic. Such are the people of truth, the God-fearing.”

“Those who believe and perform good deeds We shall indeed grant pardon to them for their misdeeds and shall reward them according to the best of their deeds.”

“And what is the uphill road? It is to free a slave, or to feed in a day of hunger–an orphan near of kin, or some poor in misery. Then to be those who believe and exhort one another to patience and to compassion.”

“Who is better in speech than the one who summons people unto God, and performed a good deed and says, ‘Truly I am of the believers.”

“The believers, men and women, are protecting friends one of another; they enjoin the right and forbid the wrong, and they establish worship and they pay the poor-due, and they obey Allah and His messenger. As for these, Allah will have mercy on them. Lo! Allah is Mighty, Wise.”

“The parable of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is that of a grain of corn: it grows seven ears, and each ear has a hundred grains. Allah gives manifold increase to whom He pleases, and Allah is All-embracing, All-Knowing.”

“In the name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.” (opening words to all but one chapter of the Holy Quran)

“Whoever works righteousness, man or woman, and has faith, verily to him (or her) We will give a new Life, and life that is good and pure, and We will reward them according to the best of their actions.”

“Nor can Goodness and Evil be equal. Repel (Evil) with that which is better: then he between whom and you was hatred will become as if he were your friend and intimate.”

“Therefore remember Me. I will remember you. Be grateful to Me and never show me ingratitude.”

“And whosoever fears Allah…He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine”
